Alfred Andersen Leather

Who is Alfred Andersen?

Alfred Andersen is one of few remaning shoeworkers who's managed to turn his passion into his lifestyle. He owns a leathersmithing workshop in Svendborg and has become an integral part of the towns's identity.

The projejct

Alfred’s website proposal was very complex. He wanted minimal maintenance requirements, but at the same time, he wanted a fully-functional website including an expandable webshop – allowing him to reach new clients outside of the Svendborg area.

This task was met with several setbacks and alterations, pushing the tight deadline to its very limits.

The outcome of this allowed us all to properly test our staging solutions, as we'd been relying on placeholders up to this point. Below are a few of the results of the photography session.

Wordpressification

Now that we'd tested our prototype and tied all content together, we needed to realize it using WordPress. Wordpress is a pain to work with, as the only reliable means of modifications is by creating a "Child Theme" to overrule a basic theme.

Technically, everything is possible through Child Themes, however we also had to account for potential updates breaking our work. it required a lot of frustration dodgy patchwork to achieve the result we expected...
