How to Ludo

The assignment

My team had two weeks to:

  • Generate an idea and a plan for a video project
  • Get familiar with our specialized camera and lighting equipment
  • Get the know-how to project manage a video project from A to Z
  • Figure out locations, props, camera angles, manuscript, etc.
  • Get familiar with video editors and actually produce the video

My roles

I took on the role as narrator and camera man throughout the production process. Meanwhile, I was at the forefront of project management, managing 5 people on a tight schedule.

The idea

After some intense idea generation, we settled on doing a Ludo tutorial, because let’s face it: Have you ever played a game of Ludo without disputing the rules?

The idea itself was also very approachable when it comes to locations, props and opportunities to experiment with the content.

We opted for roleplay-based scenarios with cartoon-esque sound effects and a few humoristic twists to keep people interested. The tutorial were to be a fast-phase no-nonsense guide people could easily return to if necessary.

A solid team

My team and I worked on a vast majority of this project together from the very beginning until the editing phase. Each team member had the responsibility of editing one scene each, where we in the end were to stitch the scenes together and render the final product on one machine.
